Our client is a well-established and growing public accounting firm in the Greater Toronto Area that specializes in providing accounting, tax, and advisory services to small and medium-sized businesses. They are currently seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join their team.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build their career in public accounting. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll gain hands-on experience with bookkeeping, financial reporting, corporate and personal tax preparation, and client account management.

Responsibilities

- Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of small business clients

- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts

- Prepare journal entries and assist with year-end working papers

- Assist with the preparation of financial statements

- Prepare GST/HST returns and other government filings

- Assist with corporate and personal income tax returns

- Review financial information for accuracy and completeness

- Communicate professionally with clients to obtain information and provide updates





- Maintain organized electronic client files and documentation

- Work closely with senior accountants to support client engagements

Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field

- Previous experience in public accounting, bookkeeping, or tax preparation

- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, CaseWare, ProFile, or similar

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities

- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

- French language skills are considered an asset

- Access to a vehicle is considered an asset
