Job Summary

The Investor Relations and Operations Intern will work alongside the National Program Manager, Managing Director, and Advisory Board members. This is a digitally immersive work-integrated learning placement in which the student will use data, communications, collaboration, design, and AI tools as part of their regular responsibilities. The role will involve regularly using digital tools and platforms, including Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Canva, Claude, and Gemini. The position offers hands-on experience in the early-stage investment community and helps the student develop practical skills in digital data management, investor relations, fund administration, reporting, and project coordination.

Responsibilities

- Digital Data Analysis and Annual Reporting: Collect, clean, organize, and analyze portfolio company and investor data using Google Sheets. Maintain KPI trackers, use formulas and other spreadsheet functions to identify trends, summarize findings, and support the development of annual digital reports for WEL’s Limited Partners. Assist with formatting, testing, and distribution through Mailchimp.
- Investment Group Support: Support WEL’s eight regional Investment Groups by monitoring and triaging digitally submitted requests, maintaining shared trackers, updating internal databases and records, organizing documents in Google Drive, and routing requests through established digital workflows. Help ensure information is accurate, accessible, and consistently documented.
- General Operations: Use Google Docs, Google Slides, Canva, Mailchimp,



and other digital tools to prepare briefing notes, summaries, task lists, coordination emails, presentations, and other materials that help a small organization operate effectively.
- Special Projects: Support a range of day-to-day activities and time-limited projects based on organizational priorities.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

- Be enrolled full-time or part-time in a Canadian college or university.
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee status.
- Be studying in a relevant program area, such as business, commerce, communications, information systems, public administration, project management, or a related field.
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Who You Are

You are likely someone who:

- Is comfortable learning and using digital platforms in a remote work environment.
- Skillfully uses Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Drive, and is familiar with Mailchimp and Canva.
- Is organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to support recurring processes and changing priorities.
- Communicates clearly and concisely in written and spoken English; French-language skills are an asset.
- Follows up tactfully and knows when to take initiative, ask questions, or escalate.
- Handles confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
- Uses AI tools, including Claude and Gemini, to support administrative tasks while taking responsibility for accuracy, oversight, confidentiality, and quality control.
- Is passionate about contributing to the growth of a women-led organization.

The Details:

- Work Term: September to December 2026, with the possibility of an extension into January 2027
- Employment Type: Part-time, 20 hours per week
- Working Hours: Flexible hours; however, at least five hours per week must fall between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM PT to allow for team collaboration
- Location: Remote within Canada
- Compensation: $24 per hour
