Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Control Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the company’s document management system, ensuring the accurate recording, categorization, storage, and accessibility of project and company-related documents. This position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a strong understanding of document control processes, compliance standards, and revision tracking.
As a Document Control Clerk, you will be responsible for managing digital and physical documents, maintaining revision control, archiving, and supporting various departments by ensuring document accuracy and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage document control processes, including downloading, receiving, and uploading customer files to internal servers.
- Maintain revision control and archive documents as needed to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Index and track physical documents, maintaining check-in/check-out records.
- Support the Field Change Notice (FCN) process by flagging necessary document updates and coordinating with planning and engineering teams.
- Oversee workflow processes related to FCI internal document releases and revisions.
- Documents to be controlled;Engineering drawings and mylars, customer and industry specifications, certification records, Lab test reports, production logs, work instructions/QAP's, training records, and more.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and maintain accurate records to support audit processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all departments have access to the most up-to-date documentation.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Previous experience in document control, records management, or a related role, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity withISO 9001 standards or equivalent regulations.
- Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with document management software and database systems (SQL experience is an asset).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience handling various document media (paper drawings, mylars, vellum, X-rays, etc.).
- Experience working with customers and vendors is an asset
