Job Summary
Are you a certified Level II Dental Assistant looking to take the next step in your career? Our orthodontic office is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Level II Dental Assistant & Receptionist to join our team part-time.
In this multifaceted role, you’ll work closely with our orthodontist to provide exceptional patient care, assist with orthodontic procedures, and support front desk responsibilities. You’ll play an important role in creating a welcoming experience for our patients while helping ensure the clinic runs smoothly and efficiently.
We’re looking for someone who is organized, personable, proactive, and passionate about oral health and patient care. This is a great prospect to expand your skills, gain experience in orthodontics, and become an important part of a supportive and growing practice.
Duties
- Assist orthodontist during a variety of procedures ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, adhering to sterilization protocols
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including scheduling appointments and updating medical records using dental practice management software
- Maintain clinical cleanliness and sterilization protocols in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Handle incoming calls, answer patient inquiries, and provide excellent customer service as the primary receptionist
- Verify insurance information,
process payments, and maintain accurate billing records
- Educate patients on post-treatment care instructions and answer questions related to dental procedures or orthodontics
- Maintain organized clinical and administrative files, ensuring compliance with health regulations and confidentiality standards
What You Need (Required)
- Level II Dental Assisting diploma/certificate from a recognized program
- NDAEB certification (National Dental Assisting Examining Board)
- HARP certification for dental radiography in Ontario
- Current CPR and First Aid
- WHMIS training and solid knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPAC)
Nice to Have (We'll Train You on the Rest)
- Previous orthodontic assisting experience
- Digital intraoral scanning and impressions
- Clear aligner workflows (Invisalign or similar)
- Digital X-ray, panoramic/cephalometric imaging, and intra/extraoral photography
- Practice-management and patient-charting software
- ODAA membership
