Who we are

CommunityPlus is based out of Greater Victoria and provides home caregiving services across Vancouver Island. Saltspring to Sooke, Duncan to Nanaimo, Comox and beyond. We are locally owned and operated with over 65 exceptional caregivers, nurses and allied health professionals. BC's first and still only private Living Wage home care provider.

We are also a software company that creates and operates on our own tools, made-for-purpose to empower the care and nursing services we provide.

Position Description

This is a FT 40h position working from our office in Metchosin, BC - Monday through Friday 1000-1800.

Coordinators are the organizational brains and cultural heartbeat of home support operations. To be successful in this position you must:

- Be able to learn on the job and adapt to a quickly growing business.
- Be comfortable being on the phone and computer for hours each day.
- Work with two large monitors and large amounts of changing data.
- Demonstrate initiative, be an adept problem solver and make ethical choices.
- Care about the impact you have & communicate effectively.
- Be an effective and proactive relationship manager - This position MUST be anticipating and meeting the needs and boundaries of our employees. We are client focused by being employee centered.
- Almost all our Coordinators are certified HCAs. This is not a requirement but equivalent familiarity with the health system is essential.

Our Training

We train through doing.



First week hires are tasked with answering phones and given a variety of detail oriented tasks to test their ability to follow directions, pay attention to detail and begin demonstrating comfort with our systems. This may include competitor research, data entry or other work where we can assess progress and outcome. We are assessing the aptitude, initiative and proactive behaviours people demonstrate throughout this process.

Coordinator Proficiency

- $28 Starting Coordinators are tasked with admin duties, receiving calls, learning same day and week home care scheduling, solving one-time scheduling challenges.
- $30 After the 3 month Probation period
- Additional pay steps are currently $32 & $34 per hour once demonstrating and then exceeding the position proficiency requirements. And everyone receives the same annual wage increase.
- Proficiencies include same and next day home care scheduling, pattern based ongoing schedule creation - to manage and oversee the ongoing allocation of hours and optimize logistics.
- We all wear several hats and operate as a cohesive team. All of our Coordinators are involved in the client onboarding, hiring and recruitment process and each have other tasks which could include things like home safety assessments, health & safety meetings, or reporting, among others.

Wage & Benefit Details

- Starting wage $28 per hour, increasing up to $34 per hour. Full Time for new Coordinators is ~$68k per year.



Full Time for established Coordinators is ~$90k per year.
- Great Vacation - Up to 6 weeks of paid time off. Vacation earned increases faster, every full year worked.

PLUS

- Pay Premiums for weekend work. ($4 per hour)
- End-of-year bonus based on performance and gross wages. (~2%)
- Health & Dental - Excellent benefits including up to $750 per practitioner
- Bonus Vacation - Earn a bonus week of vacation for good health and another for our pensioners. Up to 8 weeks of total paid time off. (~4%)
- Pension - 2 for 1 RRSP contributions with combined contributions starting at 6% and increasing to 15%.
