Vortex Restaurant Equipment is a growing and dynamic commercial restaurant equipment company serving restaurants, hotels, cafés, foodservice operations, and other hospitality businesses throughout the Lower Mainland and beyond.

About the Role

As a Sales Representative at Vortex Restaurant Equipment, you will be responsible for developing new business, maintaining existing customer relationships, and helping customers select commercial foodservice equipment that meets their operational and budget requirements.

You will manage your sales activities from initial contact through quotation, order, delivery, and follow-up. The ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated, organized, personable, persistent, and comfortable taking ownership of their sales opportunities.

You will work closely with our sales, operations, logistics, purchasing, and accounting teams to ensure customers receive a high level of service throughout the entire sales process.

Key Responsibilities

- Generate new business through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, and follow-up.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate commercial restaurant equipment and solutions.
- Prepare quotations and proposals based on customer requirements.
- Follow up on quotations and sales opportunities in a timely and professional manner.
- Make sales calls and communicate with customers by phone, email, and in person.
- Manage multiple sales opportunities and maintain an organized sales pipeline.
- Negotiate pricing and terms within company guidelines.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales information in our CRM and internal systems.
- Follow up with customers throughout the ordering, delivery, and installation process.
- Work closely with our operations and logistics teams to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Develop repeat business and identify additional sales opportunities with existing customers.
- Stay current on product specifications, pricing, features, and industry developments.
- Participate in product training, demonstrations, promotional activities,



and sales events when required.
- Assist with showroom merchandising and promotional activities when necessary.
- Participate in inventory counts and other showroom activities as required.
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and approach when dealing with customers and suppliers.
- Provide excellent customer service before, during, and after the sale.
- Meet or exceed established sales and performance objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous sales experience is preferred.
- Experience in commercial restaurant equipment, foodservice, hospitality, restaurant operations, distribution, or a related industry is a strong asset.
- Experience working in a restaurant or commercial kitchen environment is also considered an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional telephone manner.
- Ability to build trust and establish long-term customer relationships.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable making outbound sales calls and developing new business.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Comfortable learning CRM and other internal software systems.
- Able to learn new products and technical information quickly.
- Positive, energetic, and professional attitude.
- Reliable, accountable, and willing to take ownership of your responsibilities.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and all levels of the organization.

Experience in Restaurant Equipment Is an Asset

If you have experience working with commercial kitchen equipment or have worked in the restaurant or hospitality industry, we would like to hear from you.

Knowledge of products such as refrigeration, cooking equipment, warewashing, food preparation equipment, smallwares,



and other commercial foodservice equipment is an advantage. However, we are also willing to train the right candidate who has strong sales ability, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in the foodservice industry.

Location

Vancouver / Lower Mainland, British Columbia

The position will involve working with customers throughout the Lower Mainland. Regular customer visits and travel within the territory may be required.
