Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure proper paint adhesion and finish quality
- Mix paints, primers, and other coatings accurately according to specifications
- Apply paint using spray guns, ensuring even coverage and smooth finishes while adhering to safety protocols
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the painting process to identify imperfections or inconsistencies
- Maintain and calibrate spray equipment regularly for optimal operation
- Assist with surface repairs or minor mechanical tasks as needed using hand tools and power tools
- Lift heavy components safely during preparation or finishing stages, following proper ergonomic practices
Skills
- Proven experience as a Spray Painter, preferably within a dealership or automotive repair environment
- Solid mechanical knowledge related to vehicle or industrial surface preparation and finishing processes
- Proficiency with hand tools such as sanders, scrapers, and grinders; familiarity with power tools is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy parts during the painting process
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures and surface treatments is highly desirable
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
