About Border Steel Ltd.:
Border Steel is a leading steel processing company in Windsor, ON, specializing in flame cutting, precision Blanchard grinding, and CNC machining of heavy steel plate.

Key Responsibilities:

- Set up and operate CNC oxy-fuel/flame cutting machines to cut steel plate to exact specifications
- Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and cutting instructions
- Set up torches, cutting tips, and machine parameters based on material thickness and job requirements
- Assist in loading, position, and safely secure large steel plates using overhead cranes and magnets
- Monitor cutting operations and make adjustments to maintain cut quality and dimensional accuracy
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on cutting equipment and report any mechanical or operational issues
- Identify and correct common cutting issues such as poor pierces, excessive slag, blow holes, and inconsistent cut quality
- Maintain production targets while ensuring quality and safety standards are met
- Accurately use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, calipers, and other inspection equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with safety standards

Required Qualifications:

- Previous experience operating CNC flame cutting,



oxy-fuel, or similar CNC cutting equipment
- Experience working with large steel plate or in a heavy industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and basic dimensions
- Basic understanding of oxy-fuel cutting processes and torch operation
- Proficient with measuring tools and basic inspection techniques
- Basic math skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable attendance, self-starter with the ability to work independently and stay productive
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe operating practices
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Assets (Preferred):

- Previous experience operating a CNC oxy-fuel/flame cutting machine
- Experience cutting heavy steel plate
- Overhead crane and/or forklift certification
- Experience with nesting or CNC cutting software

Schedule and Working Conditions:

- Industrial shop environment (steel manufacturing, flame cutting, Blanchard grinding, CNC milling, fabricating)
- 8–10 hour shifts
- Monday to Friday (days and afternoons with shift premium)
- Weekends as needed
- PPE required (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
