Technical Solutions Broker

Donovan Insurance Brokers Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Solutions Broker to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for processing personal lines insurance applications and policy transactions in accordance with brokerage procedures and carrier binding authority guidelines. You will help ensure that policy documentation, billing, carrier submissions, and electronic workflows are completed accurately and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of property and casualty insurance processes, experience working with carrier portals and broker management systems, and the ability to identify and resolve policy or billing discrepancies.

Responsibilities

- Process new business applications in accordance with brokerage procedures and carrier binding authority guidelines
- Review applications to ensure they are complete, accurate, and ready for submission
- Submit applications through carrier portals and follow up on policy issuance
- Process incoming recent business policies and complete billing accurately
- Process policy changes for new and existing policies through carrier portals
- Manage daily EDI workflows and identify, troubleshoot, and resolve EDI issues
- Review and interpret industry reports, including AutoPlus, MVR, and HITS reports
- Identify and correct billing discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate policy and client information in the Broker Management System




- Assist with the training and onboarding of employees using the Broker Management System
- Maintain current knowledge of carrier underwriting guidelines, brokerage procedures, and industry changes
- Collaborate with internal teams and insurance carriers to resolve technical or policy-related issues
- Ensure all transactions comply with brokerage procedures and applicable regulatory requirements

Qualifications

- Valid RIBO licence in Ontario is required
- Minimum two years of personal lines insurance experience as a broker or underwriter
- Strong understanding of property and casualty insurance processes, policy transactions, and carrier systems
- Experience using carrier portals and a Broker Management System
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Experience with SIG is considered an asset
- Experience managing or troubleshooting EDI workflows is considered an asset

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
