Part-Time Cook for 50's Diner at the Canadian Transportation Museum and Heritage Village

Position: Part-Time Cook

Location: Canadian Transportation Museum and Heritage Village, 6155 Arner Townline, Kingsville, ON, N9Y 2E5

Hours: Wednesday to Sunday (up to 25 hours per week) plus additional ongoing events

Pay: $17.60 plus gratuities

Company Overview: The Canadian Transportation Museum and Heritage Village is a small non-profit museum situated in Kingsville, Ontario. Our museum boasts a diverse collection of over 100 vehicles and historical buildings from the 19th century, providing visitors with a unique glimpse into Canada's transportation heritage.

Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time Cook to join our team. As a cook, you will be responsible for preparing breakfast and lunch in an open diner environment, providing our visitors with delicious meals that complement the nostalgic atmosphere of our 50's diner. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring high standards of hygiene and food safety.

Responsibilities:

Prepare breakfast and lunch items according to established recipes and menu items.

Ensure that all meals are cooked to order and meet our quality standards.

Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service.

Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, including regular cleaning of equipment, utensils, and workstations.
Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.

Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.





Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with visitors and colleagues.

Hours vary dependent on different department of the museum (may be requires to serve in different museum events)

Requirement:

Safe Food Handling Certificate

Previous experience working as a cook or in a similar role is preferred.

Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and sanitation standards.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, open kitchen environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Must work on weekends and holidays, as required.
