Fireweed Camps Ltd. is a progressive and innovative business with a focus on providing exceptional catering and janitorial services to our clients. Fire season is upon us and we are looking for interested applicants to fill the following positions:
- Maintenance Worker
Job Overview
To provide catering, janitorial and maintenance services for the Ministry of Forests Lands and Natural Resource and Wildfire Management Branch. Fireweed Camps Ltd. create and serve outstanding gourmet meals for the WMB while maintaining a safe, clean work, and rest environment.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards
- Conduct repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, and other building infrastructure including generators
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, including hallways, restrooms, and outdoor spaces
- Assist with setup and breakdown of fire camps - kitchen, dorms, wash cars etc.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs performed, and safety checks accurately in logs
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management to resolve issues efficiently
- Support preventative maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience in general maintenance, camp operations or facilities upkeep preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and building safety standards
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and effectively
- Robust problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and safety compliance
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues clearly
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work at heights, and perform manual tasks as needed
- Certification in relevant trades (e.g., electrician’s license or HVAC certification) is a plus but not required

- Physical capabilities of working in a fast paced environment
- Maintenance experience
