After School Educator
Permanent, Part-time

For over 30 years, Wooden Hill Child Care Centre has been dedicated to offering high-quality programs for young children and their families. We operate a full-day early learning and childcare centre at Notre Dame school, as well as Before and Afterschool programs at Notre Dame and St. Basil school.

Location: St Basil School / Notre Dame school

925 9th Ave West Owen Sound / 885 25th St. East Owen Sound

Total Weekly Hours: 15-17 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday 3 to 6:00pm

Pay rate: $23-25.86

Who We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

· Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children or in a childcare setting.

· Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent (e.g., Child & Youth Worker, Child and Youth Care, OCT, Recreation & Leisure diploma) preferred.





Students are welcome to apply but MUST be 18+.

Certifications:

· Standard First Aid with CPR Level C

· Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check

· Proof of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, MMR)

Skills & Knowledge:

· Familiarity with How Does Learning Happen? (an asset)

· Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Characteristics:

· Ability to work independently and in a team.

· Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.

Caring and friendly personality

Key Responsibilities:

· Plan and implement activities to support children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.

· Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.

· Maintain an engaging and welcoming environment for children and families.
