About Us
The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The Faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).
Health & Rehabilitation Sciences (HRS) program is an interdisciplinary graduate program within the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) with approximately 220 students. This graduate program has 8 fields at the MSc and PhD level. The Pan- Faculty structure creates a rich collaborative and interdisciplinary learning experience between students and faculty and across schools.
Advanced Health Care Practice (AHCP) is a one-year course-based master's program offering an opportunity for experienced health-care professionals to obtain graduate-level education in a clinical specialty across 1 of the 5 fields of study offered. Each field has approximately 15-20 students and a dedicated faculty field leader.

The Administrative Assistant III, Graduate Programs supports the administration of physical and electronic program resources for the Graduate Programs in Health Sciences. The incumbent will be responsible for providing administrative support to the program including, event and orientation preparation, maintenance of the program newsletter and websites, thesis exam coordination, room bookings, key requests, and supply ordering. The Administrative Assistant also provides general information and front line support to visitors,
prospective students, and current students to the Graduate Programs department, by responding to phone and e-mail inquiries and refers inquiries to other resources.
This position is on-site but has flexible hours (i.e. 4 days a week or 5 days a week).
Qualifications
Education:
- Community College Diploma in an administrative field
Experience:
- 1 year of administrative experience providing customer service
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Knowledge of general office procedures
- Written and verbal communication skills to express ideas clearly, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
- Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Ability to follow formal business practices with high attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
- Adapts readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
- Demonstrated ability to understand and resolve external and internal partner issues
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
- Ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements
- Robust keyboarding skills
