Job Title: Assistant Teacher
Number of Positions Available: Multiple
Location: Richmond Hill, High Park, Riverdale, and Willowdale
Job Type: Part-time, Permanent
Shift: Regular weekly shifts; schedule varies by campus
Salary/Wage: $26 per hour
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Are you passionate about education and working with students? Our employer partner is looking for motivated Assistant Teachers to support classroom instruction and help students succeed. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience and develop their teaching skills, with a pathway toward becoming a Primary Teacher.

Responsibilities:

- Support lesson delivery alongside the Primary Teacher.
- Lead pre-assigned classroom activities, including group work, drills, and core topics.
- Provide targeted support to new and struggling students.
- Assist students during homework sessions when assigned.
- Maintain classroom flow while the Primary Teacher supports individual students or parents.
- Support assessments and work independently with new students when required.
- Independently teach or substitute teach in the absence of the Primary Teacher.
- Arrive 15 minutes before class and assist with classroom setup.
- Support classroom transitions, student engagement, and behavior expectations.
- Assist with attendance tracking and follow-up as directed.
- Assist with marking and lesson preparation.
- Provide feedback to the Primary Teacher regarding student progress.
- Assist with updating student records in Brightspace as required.




- Participate in mandatory internal Math and Teacher training.

Requirements:

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Successful completion of mandatory background screening/vulnerable sector check.
- Successful completion of mandatory internal Math and Teacher training.
- Ability to commit to regular weekly shifts.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled classroom conduct and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively with students and teaching staff.
- Ability to follow instructions and take initiative in the classroom.

Training:

- 60 hours of paid mandatory internal Math and Teacher training.
- Training provides classroom exposure and supports professional development toward becoming a Primary Teacher.
