Is It Time for a Change? We Have a Great Opportunity for You
Kenora Chevrolet Buick GMC Corvette is growing and we are looking for an Automotive Apprentice Technician or Red Seal Automotive Technician to join our Service team.
Whether you are an experienced licensed technician looking for a better opportunity or someone interested in starting a career in the automotive trade, we want to hear from you. No previous automotive experience is necessary for an apprentice position. For the right candidate, we are willing to provide the training, support, and opportunity to build your career from the ground up.
This is a hands on role in a busy, modern dealership where quality workmanship, efficiency, and teamwork matter. You will work alongside an experienced team with access to newer shop equipment, ongoing manufacturer training, and the support needed to continue developing your skills.
What You Will Do
You will inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair customer vehicles while following manufacturer procedures and dealership standards. Depending on your experience and level of training, this may include working on brakes, steering and suspension, engines and drivetrains, electrical and electronic systems, cooling and climate control systems, exhaust and emissions systems, and general maintenance.
You will use modern diagnostic equipment and tools to identify concerns, road test vehicles when required, verify repairs, and ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
You will work closely with our Service Advisors, Parts Department, Shop Supervisor, and other technicians to keep repairs moving and customers informed. You will also participate in manufacturer and dealership training to stay current with changing vehicle technology.
Keeping your work area organized, following all workplace safety requirements, and treating every customer's vehicle with care are important parts of the position.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and wants to continue learning and developing their skills.
For apprentice candidates, experience is not required. Mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, reliability, and a genuine interest in the automotive trade are what matter most. We are willing to invest in the right person.
For experienced technicians, Red Seal certification is preferred, along with the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle systems efficiently and accurately.
Why Work at Kenora Chevrolet Buick GMC Corvette
You will be joining a supportive, professional, and community focused dealership that believes in developing its people.
We offer a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, dental, life insurance, and employee assistance programs. Team members enjoy up to three weeks paid vacation, frequent team lunches and events, employee pricing on vehicles, parts, and service, and access to newer shop equipment and ongoing manufacturer training.
Experienced technicians have earning potential of $100,000+ per year with bonuses, depending on experience, productivity, and performance.
For those beginning their career, we offer access to the paid GM ASEP Technician Apprenticeship Program, providing an accelerated pathway toward becoming a licensed Red Seal Automotive Service Technician.
Relocation assistance may be available. A signing bonus is available for the right candidate depending on experience.
Kenora Chevrolet Buick GMC Corvette is proud to be part of the Morris Group of Companies, a growing dealer group focused on long term career development. Many team members have advanced into leadership, management, and specialized roles within the organization. We believe in promoting from within and investing in our people.
What You Need
A valid full driver's license is required. You should have or be willing to acquire the basic tools necessary for the position and be physically capable of performing the regular duties of an Automotive Technician.
You must be willing to learn, keep up with changing automotive technology, follow established processes and safety procedures, and work effectively as part of a team.
Previous automotive experience, apprenticeship registration, manufacturer training, or Red Seal certification are considered assets depending on the position you are applying for, but previous experience is not required to be considered for an apprentice opportunity.
We offer competitive compensation, strong benefits, ongoing training, and the opportunity to build a long term career with a dealership that values hard work, attitude, quality, and teamwork.
