Housekeeping / Room Attendant

Position Summary

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeping / Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean, comfortable, and welcoming guest rooms and hotel areas in accordance with the standards of The Amsterdam Inn & Suites.

This position is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, replenishing supplies, handling linens, and ensuring rooms are ready for arriving guests. The Room Attendant plays an important role in creating a positive guest experience by maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail.

Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Duties

- Clean and prepare guest rooms according to hotel standards.
- Make beds and replace sheets, pillowcases, and other linens as required.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including showers, tubs, toilets, sinks, and floors.
- Dust furniture, clean mirrors and surfaces, and vacuum or mop floors.
- Replenish towels, toiletries, coffee supplies, and other guest room items.
- Remove garbage and used linens from guest rooms.
- Ensure guest rooms are properly stocked and ready for arriving guests.
- Report maintenance issues, damaged items, or safety concerns to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Report lost and found items according to hotel procedures.
- Respect guest privacy and follow hotel security procedures.




- Maintain housekeeping carts and supply areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Assist with cleaning hallways, entrances, public areas, and other hotel areas when required.
- Respond professionally and courteously to guest requests.
- Follow proper procedures for the use and storage of cleaning products and equipment.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Work cooperatively with other housekeeping staff and hotel departments.
- Perform additional housekeeping duties as assigned.

- Friendly and professional attitude.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is considered an asset but is not required.

Other Requirements

- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical cleaning duties throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift and move housekeeping supplies, linens, and equipment as required.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $15.90-$17.90 per hour
