Safety & Compliance Coordinator

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Coordinator to join our growing transportation compliance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing safety and compliance programs for commercial carriers, maintaining regulatory records, conducting audits, and providing on-site support to clients.

This role includes both office work and travel to client locations. A valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

- Maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage truck and trailer files, including permits, registrations, inspections, and documentation.
- Monitor and coordinate Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules and maintenance records.
- Track annual inspections and ensure vehicles remain compliant.
- Conduct safety and compliance audits for clients.
- Review and maintain accident and incident records and assist with follow-up documentation.
- Monitor regulatory compliance and identify corrective actions when required.
- Assist clients with transportation safety and compliance requirements.
- Visit client locations to conduct file reviews, audits, and compliance assessments.
- Prepare compliance reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Stay current with transportation regulations and industry best practices.
- Perform other compliance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications





- Minimum 1 years of experience in transportation safety and compliance (preferred).
- Knowledge of Driver Qualification (DQ) files.
- Experience managing truck and trailer compliance files.
- Understanding of Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs and commercial vehicle inspections.
- Knowledge of accident reporting and regulatory documentation.
- Experience conducting safety and compliance audits.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Requirements

- Valid Ontario G driver's license.
- Reliable personal vehicle for commuting and client visits.
- Willingness to travel to client locations throughout the GTA and surrounding areas.
- Strong attention to detail and a professional attitude.
