POSITION SUMMARY:
The Residential Builder Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing relationships with residential home builders while delivering an exceptional customer experience throughout the construction process. This role coordinates builder selections, quotations, order processing, invoicing, product support, warranty and deficiency management, and project coordination from initial specification through final possession.
The successful candidate acts as the primary point of contact for assigned builder accounts, ensuring projects are completed accurately, on schedule, and to the highest level of customer satisfaction. This position also assists Whitfield Lighting's manufacturing division by travelling internationally to support product development, sourcing, and communication with overseas manufacturing partners.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- LANGUAGES: English, fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin are an asset
- EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree
- EXPERIENCE: 5 years or more in account management, residential construction, lighting, electrical, or building products.
- TRANSPORTATION/TRAVEL INFORMATION: Willing to travel internationally, Valid driver's licence

· Strong understanding of residential construction processes.
· Ability to read and interpret residential electrical plans and blueprints.
· Experience preparing quotations and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Valid driver's Licence and ability to travel internationally.
DUTIES:
- Prepare sales or other contracts
- Reach to clients after the sale or signed contracts to provide ongoing support
- Identify and solicit potential clients
- Represent companies that export and import products or services to and from foreign countries
- Review and adapt information regarding product innovations, competitors and market conditions
- Promote sales to existing clients
- Read electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams
- Provide clients with presentations on the benefits and uses of goods or services
- Document and prepare invoices and work orders
- Prepare price quotations
- Meet with clients to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs, and timelines
- Maintain accurate records
- Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications
- Manage and maintain assigned residential builder accounts.
- Develop long-term relationships with builders, purchasing departments, site supervisors, and homeowners.
- Monitor builder account activity and proactively identify opportunities to increase sales and improve service.
- Ensure all builder pricing, programs, and agreements are properly maintained.
- Serve as the primary contact for builders throughout each project.
- Conduct professional lighting selection appointments with homeowners.
- Provide design guidance while ensuring selections remain within builder allowances and project specifications.
- Recommend upgrades and additional products to maximize customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.
- Prepare accurate selection documentation for builders and internal departments.
- Prepare detailed quotations for builders, homeowners, and custom projects.
- Process sales orders accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate special orders and custom products with suppliers.
- Prepare invoices, process changes, and ensure all documentation is completed correctly.
- Verify pricing, product availability, and project timelines.
- Read, interpret, and modify residential electrical plans.
- Review electrical layouts and lighting specifications for accuracy.
- Coordinate changes between builders, electricians, and internal departments.
- Maintain accurate project records throughout construction.
- Ensure lighting packages align with construction schedules and customer selections.
- Manage builder deficiencies and warranty concerns.
- Coordinate replacement products and return authorizations.
- Investigate product issues and communicate resolutions with manufacturers and customers.
- Track outstanding deficiencies until fully resolved.
- Maintain excellent customer satisfaction throughout the warranty process.
- Assist in promotional campaigns and builder events.
- Promote new products and upgrade opportunities to existing builder accounts.
- Support showroom events, trade shows, and customer appreciation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to increase market share within existing accounts.
- Travel to China (up to two trips annually) to support Whitfield Lighting's manufacturing division.
- Assist with product sourcing, factory visits, quality inspections, and product evaluations.
- Help translate product specifications and communicate design requirements between Canadian and overseas teams.
- Assist in selecting new products for future collections.
- Support purchasing and inventory planning initiatives.
- Maintain accurate customer records and project documentation.
- Monitor project timelines and follow up on outstanding items.
- Prepare reports relating to builder sales, deficiencies, and account performance.
- Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, showroom, and accounting departments to ensure seamless project execution.
Pay: $37.50 per hour
