The Field Services Labourer, under the direction of the Field Services Supervisor, is responsible for communicating with on-site contacts, performing installations/ repairs and perform confined space work. The Field Services Labourer has effective communication, planning, and technical skills to ensure the efficient completion of site projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform resin injections and related duties as needed.
- Mark locations for hydro guard installation and lower pieces on the wall according to manufacturer’s specifications.
- Install FRP ladders and frost straps where required by OPS standard.
- Perform concrete repairs according to procedure specifications.
- Communicate with on-site contacts to ensure worksite is safe and obtain necessary confined space permits.
- Discuss work to be done with co-workers, identify a plan for work accomplishments and duty assignments.
- Set-up safety equipment and identify, investigate, and correct potential environmental and safety problems.
- Inspect work to maintain specified standards and quality.
- Provide excellent services that satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals.
Skills, Education & Experience
- Previous experience in a precast setting or working with concrete considered an asset
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Confined Space Certification, Confined Space Rescue Certification, Working at Heights Certification considered an asset.
- Possess a valid class G Ontario license and the ability to be added to a CVOR.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED Certifications are considered assets.
- Knowledge of OPS Standards for sewer and watermain construction considered an asset.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
