Position Summary

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Health Care Aide (HCA) to support clients in Nakusp, BC. This position is casual part-time to start, with the prospect for additional or full-time hours as services continue to expand in the area.

We welcome applicants with formal HCA training; however, relevant caregiving, support work, or personal care experience will also be strongly considered.

This is a community-based, on-site role providing personal care, companionship, daily living assistance, and household support to adult clients in home and community settings. The successful candidate will work independently while following care plans and maintaining ongoing communication with Spectrum management.

Key Responsibilities

- Help develop budgeting and money-management skills
- Support social skills, community participation, and independence




- Provide companionship and meaningful activities
- Provide dementia care and respite support
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and daily routines as required
- Complete accurate and timely progress notes

Qualifications & Requirements

- Health Care Aide (HCA) certification preferred, but not required
- Previous experience in caregiving, home support, personal care, community support work, or similar roles considered an asset
- Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- WHMIS 2018 certification
- Food Safe Level 1
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Must be fragrance-free (no scented products, sprays, detergents, etc.)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundariesIdeal Candidate

- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Able to work independently and follow care directions
- Client-centered and trauma-informed in approach
- Flexible and adaptable to changing client needs
