Job Summary:

At Get Set Go Athletics, through a wide range of sports activities, we aim to create a fun and engaging workplace that promotes learning and exploration. Our program is designed to foster the growth of gross motor skills, providing children with a solid foundation for physical development and overall well-being. Our experienced coaches utilize educational techniques to enhance each child's understanding of sports fundamentals, teamwork, self esteem and perseverance. The children will embark on a journey of skill development through the power of sports and play. Children will also cultivate essential life skills like goal-setting, discipline, responsibility, communication skills, and respect which carry over into other aspects of their lives.

We are looking for a Lead Children’s Coach to facilitate our multi sport programming at a variety of childcare and school settings around the GTA. We are looking for energetic, active and sports focused individuals who can lead groups of children from ages 2 - 12 in games, activities and skill training in a variety of sports like basketball, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, football, and more.

We provide all of the equipment necessary as well as a "playbook" to help guide your lessons.

Responsibilities:

- provide a fun, safe and inclusive environment for children to learn and explore in




- strong ability to connect with children and communicate effectively with staff and parents
- lead children through a variety of games and activities related to a number of different sports focuses (soccer, baseball, hockey, football, track and field and more)
- ability to confidently lead groups of children in active, engaging, and structured programs
- support children's learning and growth as they develop their gross motor skills with a focus on perseverance, self-esteem, confidence and teamwork
- provide a fun and energetic attitude to motivate the children to learn and grow
- comfortable thinking on your feet and adjusting activities to meet the needs of different age groups and abilities
- drive to various locations - MUST HAVE FULL TIME ACCESS TO A VEHICLE

Experience:

- in a leadership role (ie. Camp counsellor, volunteer, ECE, EA, after school program facilitator, coach, etc.)
- preferred: currently studying or completed a post-secondary program in a education, child development, kinesiology, sport management, theatre or a related field
- experience leading sports, physical activity, or play-based programs is an asset
