Buffalo Trail Public Schools is seeking a versatile, relationship-focused educator to join the team at Dr. Folkins Community School in Chauvin, Alberta. This full-time temporary teaching position includes Science 7–10, Jr and Sr Career and Technology programming (specific programming will be based on the skills and interests of the successful applicant), and one junior high mathematics class. Applicants with a background in science or mathematics would be an asset.

Dr. Folkins Community School is a small rural K–12 school where flexibility, collaboration, and strong relationships are key to student success. Assignment: Junior High and Senior High Teacher

Specific Position Duties

The anticipated assignment may include a combination of:

- Division 3 and 4 Science
- Division 3 CTF, Division 4 CTS
- One Jr. Math Class

Qualifications and General Duties

The successful candidate will possess:

- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- A student-centered philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
- Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices
- Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning
- The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students




- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
- A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset
