Security Guard - Full Time - One Bloor

Site Description: One Bloor East, managed by First Capital, is a premier mixed-use property at the prominent Yonge and Bloor intersection in Toronto’s Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood. This open-air retail destination features flagship tenants including Nike, Mango, and Chick-fil-A. Easily accessible by transit, car, or foot, it is surrounded by vibrant cafés, restaurants, and upscale retailers in one of Canada’s busiest urban hubs.

Position: Full Time Security Guard

Site: One Bloor

Pay Rate: $19.00/hr.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (0000-0800 hrs)

OT Method: Overtime is ESA

Key Responsibilities:

- Being alert and observant while being outside, standing or walking for an extended period in all weather conditions (Rain, Snow, Excessive Heat & Cold…etc.)
- always Maintain communications with fellow Security Guard/dispatchers, Cliental and Paladin Managerial Staff.
- Ensures all site staff adhere to all Paladin Security policies and procedures
- Completing mobile patrols diligently
- Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
- Communicates any concerns/issues with Supervisor/Client Service Manager or the client
- Always Maintain the highest standard of security, being skilled in attitude, appearance and application
- Represent Paladin Security, Yorkville Village and their respected customers in such a way as to enhance the quality, image and reputation
- Perform security duties in accordance with established procedures.



Ensure they are being conducted within the limitations of any federal, provincial and municipal laws
- Be observant and record all discrepancies, deficiencies and safety hazards/concerns noted during patrols and take corrective action either informing the applicable department or handling it personally, whenever possible
- Be courteous, and helpful in enforcing all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations
- Respond immediately to any emergency and co-ordinate response accordingly based off established procedures

Prerequisites:

- Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Covid Vaccine two doses
- English (oral and written) fluency is a must
- Previous one year experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
