About the Role:

At Royal City Nursery, we believe our amazing team is the backbone to our customer service and our business!

Depending on experience, you will work on and potentially lead a crew to install residential and commercial landscapes as per design. Candidates must have at least 2 to 3 years landscape experience installing hardscapes, softscapes and/or water features, a G class drivers license with clean drivers abstract and able to drive a pick-up truck with trailer. You must be physically able to stand, bend and squat for long periods of time and enjoy a variety of physical activities & the outdoors.

Core responsibilities:

Perform landscape maintenance and installation duties, such as:

- Planting, mulching and garden bed clean up
- Hardscape installation; including precast/natural stone, fences, arbours and decks.
- Prune/deadhead plant materials as appropriate throughout the season
- Conduct water feature maintenance, including spring opening and winterizing
- Exhibit a high standard of quality in all work, maintain a high level of professionalism and ensure work is accomplished according to plan and schedule




- Respond to customer questions and concerns in a timely manner
- Complete, and maintain all paperwork in a timely manner
- Assist with the overall maintenance of Royal City Nursery grounds
- Encourage and develop strong working team relationships through collaboration, physical assistance and idea development.
- Support the overall business mission, vision and values within the company

Skills:

- Experience in the proper and safe operation of all landscape construction equipment such as skid-steer, mini-excavator, trimmers, pruners, weed-eaters etc.
- Sound knowledge of horticultural, landscape construction and maintenance practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, solve puzzles and work efficiently in a team environment
- The ability to interact with clientele and provide clients with great customer service
- The ability to carry yourself professionally at all times

Physical and Working Environment Requirements:

- Able to stand, walk, kneel, for extended periods on a variety of surfaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently, perform repeated movements, kneeling, crouching etc.
- Ability to comfortably work on a ladder or step stool
- Comfortable working in on at client homes,



the greenhouse, and other seasonal environments
