In this energetic role, you’ll be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting and finishing by performing essential surface refinishing tasks. Duties

- Safely remove dents, rust, and surface imperfections using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical techniques
- Sand, grind, and smooth vehicle surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Assist with masking off areas not to be painted, ensuring clean lines and professional results
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency throughout the prep process
- Collaborate with technicians and painters to ensure vehicle readiness and quality standards are met




- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment during preparation activities

Qualifications

- Prior dealership or automotive repair experience highly preferred
- Robust mechanical knowledge with familiarity in auto body repair techniques
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as sanders, grinders, scrapers, and other manual tools
- Experience operating power tools safely and effectively in a workshop setting
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes and collision repair standards
- Mechanic experience or background is a valuable plus but not required
