Operations Manager – Mechanical Contracting

About the Role

First Contact Mechanical is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to support the continued growth of our plumbing, HVAC, gas, and mechanical contracting operations.

This position will work closely with company leadership and department leads to improve operational efficiency, strengthen communication, support business systems, coordinate strategic initiatives, and help develop scalable processes as the company grows.

The ideal candidate is organized, technology-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate operational priorities across multiple departments
- Support company leadership with planning and execution of key initiatives
- Improve internal workflows, communication, and accountability
- Support implementation and optimization of business software and technology
- Develop and improve operational procedures and documentation
- Assist with project startup, handoff, tracking, and closeout processes
- Support service and construction operations
- Coordinate leadership meetings, action items, and follow-up
- Monitor operational KPIs and assist with management reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency
- Support employee onboarding and development
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with estimating, project management, service, administration, finance, and field leadership

Qualifications

Preferred:

- 5+ years of operations, construction, project coordination, service management, or related experience
- Experience working in a construction, trades, engineering, service, or project-based organization




- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills
- Comfortable learning and implementing business software
- Experience developing processes and procedures
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experience working with senior leadership

Experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical contracting is an asset but not mandatory.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position serving operations throughout Metro Vancouver.

The role includes a combination of:

- Remote work
- Virtual meetings
- Leadership and team meetings
- Occasional jobsite and supplier visits
- In-person meetings throughout Metro Vancouver

A valid driver’s licence and ability to travel locally are preferred.

Compensation

$80,000–$105,000 per year, depending on experience
