Opening Statement

Braeside is a 29 bed long term care facility located in Middle Musquodoboit and attached to Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital. We provide resident centered care which maintains dignity and maximizes independence.

Qualifications

- Current Graduate Practical Nurse awaiting certification in Nova Scotia
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse and current certification in Nova Scotia
- BLS-C (HCP) certification
- Certification in medication administration
- Recent experience administering medication
- Previous experience in Long Term Care as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience working in a team setting
- Successful Applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to Employer before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment.

Under their scope of practice and in collaboration with patients and the health care team, the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse provides care for patients with defined health challenges and predictable outcomes.



As the acuity or complexity increases and/or outcomes are not predictable, the RN/LPN provides nursing interventions, within their scope of practice.

Preferred (Considered an Asset)

Previous experience working in a rural and/or long term care facility an asset or Continuing Care an asset

Casual

Must be able to work all shifts including weekends, 12 hour shifts

Additional Information

Braeside is attached to Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital/Urgent Treatment Center and has medical staff coverage 12 hours/day via the UTC duty physician.
