Overview
We are seeking a agile and strategic Warehouse Operations Manager to lead and optimize our warehouse activities. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless warehouse operations, enhancing efficiency, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. As a key leader, you will oversee all facets of warehouse management, from inventory control to process improvement initiatives, driving operational excellence across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Management
- Oversee the daily operation of the warehouse, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, shipping, returns, and inventory control.
- Ensure warehouse activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and according to established SOPs.
- Manage warehouse capacity, space utilization, pallet positions, and customer inventory.
- Develop and maintain effective warehouse processes and procedures.
- Monitor workflow and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce operating costs.
- Ensure customer shipments and receipts are processed accurately and within required service levels.
- Coordinate receiving and shipping appointments as required.
- Ensure all warehouse documentation is completed, accurate, and properly filed.
- Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, damages, shortages, overages, and OS&D; issues.
- Ensure appropriate handling, storage, and identification of customer products.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and professional warehouse environment.
- Work with the WMS to improve visibility, inventory control, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Warehouse Management System
- Maintain accurate customer, product, inventory, and location information within the WMS.
- Ensure warehouse employees follow established scanning and transaction procedures.
- Monitor WMS activity to ensure receipts, orders, transfers, and shipments are properly completed.
- Identify system issues and recommend improvements.
- Train employees and customers on applicable WMS processes.
- Utilize WMS reporting to measure operational performance and identify trends.
- Ensure required documentation and photographs are attached to transactions when applicable.
Leadership & Employee Management
- Lead, supervise, coach, and develop warehouse employees.
- Establish clear expectations for productivity, quality, attendance, safety, and customer service.
- Schedule employees based on operational requirements.
- Monitor employee performance and address performance concerns promptly.
- Conduct employee training and onboarding.
- Provide coaching and performance feedback.
- Recognize and promote positive employee performance.
- Work with management on progressive discipline and performance management when required.
- Foster a professional, respectful,
accountable, and team-oriented work setting.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Required
- 3–5+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, transportation, supply chain, or 3PL operations.
- Previous supervisory or management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, account management, or customer relationship management.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn and utilize WMS and transportation systems.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently while also leading a team.
Preferred
- Experience with a warehouse management system.
- Experience with 3PL operations.
- Experience developing warehouse pricing and rate structures.
- Experience in preparing customer proposals and contracts.
- Experience with transportation and freight services.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Forklift certification or experience working around material-handling equipment.
