Job Type: Temporary-Permanent; starting with a 6-month contract

Shift: Continental Rotating Schedule

Payrate: $23.64/hr. + 0.80 shift premium

Overview:

The Manufacturing Operator is responsible for safely operating production equipment used to manufacture wound core products. This role includes machine setup, material handling, quality inspections, basic troubleshooting, and production documentation while meeting safety, quality, and production standards. Operators may rotate between workstations based on production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate, set up, adjust, and monitor production equipment to meet quality and production targets.
- Perform machine changeovers and basic troubleshooting; report complex equipment issues.
- Load raw materials, process products, and transfer finished goods through the manufacturing process.
- Conduct in-process and final quality inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Complete production, quality, and inventory documentation accurately.
- Maintain material traceability and follow work orders and production schedules.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, scrap, and rework.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements.
- Work collaboratively with team members and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–5 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
- Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or mechanical disciplines is an asset.
- Experience with automated or semi-automated production equipment is an asset.





Knowledge & Skills:

- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read work orders, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Forklift, overhead crane, or other material handling certifications are considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

- Manufacturing environment requiring the use of PPE.
- Ability to work rotating or continental shifts.
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely operate production equipment and material handling devices.

Team Member Health & Safety Responsibilities:

Use or wear the protective equipment required by the client and work in compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and the regulations. Report to his/her Leader or designate any contravention of the act, any known hazards or defects in equipment.
