YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Health & Safety Supervisor, you will be part of the Health & Safety Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
You will be responsible for leading and overseeing the Industrial Hygiene Program at our remote mining operation. This role is critical in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce by proactively identifying, assessing, and controlling occupational health hazards in a challenging and dynamic environment.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site’s Industrial Hygiene Program;
- Managing the digital Industrial Hygiene sampling database;
- Conduct exposure assessments for airborne contaminants, noise, vibration, heat stress, and other occupational hazards;
- Design and execute monitoring strategies tailored to surface and underground mining operations;
- Analyze sampling data and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate health risks;
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal occupational health regulations and company standards;
- Provide expert guidance to site leadership, supervisors, and workers on industrial hygiene practices;
- Maintain and calibrate industrial hygiene equipment, ensuring reliability in remote conditions;
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to senior leadership and regulatory bodies;
- Lead training and awareness initiatives to promote a strong health and safety culture;
- Participate in audits, inspections, and investigations related to occupational health;
- Provide guidance and mentorship to H&S; team members and the Industrial Hygiene Technician;
- Collaborate and support WSIB case management with the Wellness and Recovery Team and the Occupational Health Nurse.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field;
- Skilled certification (CIH, ROH, CRSP) is preferred or in progress;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial hygiene, with at least 2 years in a leadership or program management role;
- Previous experience in a remote mining or industrial setting is preferred;
- Strong understanding of occupational health regulations (OHSA) and best practices;
- Team oriented with excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills;
YOUR WORK SCHEDULE:
- Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
- Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement
In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
Minimum Salary : $86,000CAD Maximum Salary : $114,000CAD
