Twenty Four Karats Plaza is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Café Team Member to join our team.

This position is specifically for our café and is a good fit for someone who takes pride in their work, learns quickly, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. We are looking for someone who does not need to be constantly directed and is willing to take initiative when there are tasks that need to be completed.

Our café team is responsible not only for preparing food and beverages, but also for keeping the café clean, organized, stocked, and ready for customers throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve café beverages, food, snacks, and other menu items according to company recipes and procedures.
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently.
- Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions while following proper cash-handling procedures.
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized food preparation areas, counters, equipment, storage areas, and customer seating areas.
- Complete regular cleaning and deep-cleaning tasks as required.
- Restock ingredients, packaging, cups, lids, napkins, and other café supplies before they run out.
- Monitor ingredient quantities and notify management when products or supplies are running low.
- Rotate stock and monitor best-before and expiry dates.
- Follow café recipes carefully to ensure products are prepared consistently.
- Receive and properly store grocery and supply deliveries.
- Keep workstations organized and ensure items are returned to their proper locations.
- Monitor delivery platforms and assist with preparing delivery orders accurately.
- Complete opening and closing duties according to café procedures.
- Learn and stay informed about menu items, recipes, promotions, and new products.




- Assist with maintaining café displays, menus, promotional materials, and customer-facing areas.
- Use downtime productively by identifying cleaning, stocking, organizing, or preparation tasks that need to be completed.
- Communicate clearly with coworkers and management regarding inventory, equipment issues, customer concerns, or other operational needs.
- Follow written procedures, checklists, recipes, and instructions carefully.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support café operations.

- Follow cleaning, food safety, and operational procedures carefully.

Initiative

We are looking for someone who can recognize what needs to be done without always waiting to be assigned a task.

During quieter periods, employees are expected to find productive work such as cleaning, restocking, organizing, checking inventory, preparing supplies, or completing other café tasks.

Strong Work Ethic

The right candidate should be:

- Hardworking and willing to stay productive throughout their shift.
- Comfortable completing cleaning and less glamorous tasks as part of the job.




- Willing to learn current procedures and accept feedback.

- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform regular cleaning, stocking, and lifting duties.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

A valid food safety or food-handling certificate is an asset but is not required. Training will be provided.

Experience

Previous experience in a café, restaurant, kitchen, food service, retail, customer service, or cashier position is preferred but not required.

We are willing to train the right candidate. Dependability, attention to detail, initiative, willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic are more important to us than previous café experience.

Availability

Applicants should have flexible availability and may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on scheduling needs.
