About the Position
We are looking for an experienced Agricultural Equipment Technician to join our dealership service team. The successful candidate will work both in our dealership shop and in the field, providing diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services to our agricultural customers.
You will work on a wide range of AGCO farm equipment, including tractors, combines, hay and forage equipment, and other agricultural machinery. This position is ideal for an experienced technician who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, working with customers, and taking on challenging repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural equipment in the dealership shop and in the field
- Perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic diagnostics
- Service and repair AGCO tractors, combines, hay and forage equipment, and other farm machinery
- Respond to customer service calls and perform field repairs during busy seasons
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and determine the most efficient repair solution
- Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, preseason checks, and equipment setup
- Use manufacturer diagnostic software, service manuals, and technical resources
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment problems and repairs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Work independently in the field while maintaining communication with the dealership service department
- Participate in seasonal and after-hours service as required during peak agricultural seasons
Qualifications
- Several years of experience as an agricultural equipment technician
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic skills
- Experience working on modern electronically controlled agricultural equipment
- AGCO equipment experience is an asset
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment both in the shop and independently in the field
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic, electrical, and technical schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's licence
- Journeyperson Agricultural Equipment Technician certification is an asset
