Summary

We are seeking a proactive and organized Production Manager Assistant to help support the day-to-day operations of our production department. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, dependable, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is essential in ensuring communication and workflow remain seamless across departments and production runs efficiently.

Responsibilities

- Shipping Coordination: Organize and oversee loading of trailers and railcars for shipment; ensure accuracy and timeliness of outgoing freight.
- Temporary Foreign Worker Support: Keep updated records of temporary foreign workers and assist with communication with the program supervisor.
- Coordinate Shipping for online and retail orders.
- Machine Testing Coordination: Ensure all units undergo proper testing prior to shipment; maintain testing documentation.
- Trailer Paperwork: Prepare and verify all necessary trailer documentation for outgoing shipments.
- Staff Uniforms & Footwear: Manage the distribution of uniforms and administer work boot vouchers for all staff.
- Hose Reel Production & Inventory: Coordinate hose reel production and maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Workplace Safety: Lead workplace safety initiatives, safety documentation, and compliance with safety standards.




- Track employee absences and notify Payroll of any unplanned or approved time off reported to the supervisor.
- Production Calendar: Maintain and update the production calendar; communicate changes to relevant departments.
- Production Meeting Updates: Record and distribute updates from production meetings to key stakeholders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Operate machinery and tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with inventory management and supply chain tasks as needed.
- Document production processes and report any issues to supervisors.

Qualifications

- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or logistics environment an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ERP or inventory system experience is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks independently.
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and documentation practices is an asset.
