Position: Casual Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
Hours: On-call, Monday to Friday between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM. Shifts range from 5 to 8 hours per day.
Note: This is a casual position where hours vary week to week. There are no guaranteed hours each week, it is dependent on the needs of the centre.

About Us
Prairie Grown Early Learning Centre (PG ELC) is a non-profit, subsidized childcare centre in Regina providing care for children from 18 months to the end of kindergarten.

We believe children learn best through play, exploration, relationships, and hands-on experiences. Our programs are guided by Saskatchewan's Play and Exploration principles, and we strive to create warm, engaging environments using natural and sustainable materials.

We are looking for a Casual ECE to join our team and provide support in our classrooms when staff coverage is needed. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for flexible hours, including students studying Early Childhood Education.

About the Position

As a Casual ECE, you will work in different classrooms throughout the centre depending on our staffing needs. You will help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and build relationships.

This is a casual, on-call position with no guaranteed weekly hours. Shifts will vary based on staff vacations, sick days, career development days, and other centre needs.

Duties

- Develop and implement child-centered programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, spiritual,



and social development of children.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety during activities and routines.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities like play, art, reading, and outdoor exploration.
- Assist with meal times, personal hygiene, and toileting as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment, ensuring proper sanitization of toys and materials.
- Implement positive guidance strategies that promote constructive behavior and support social-emotional learning.

Requirements

- Previous experience working with young children in an early childhood education setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles and play-based learning approaches.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to create and maintain an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity.
- Clear criminal record check (including vulnerable sector check).
- Familiarity with licensing regulations and standards in early childhood education.
- Ability to assist children with personal hygiene and diapering as needed.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $15.56-$24.41 per hour
