Job Summary

We are hiring a Junior Java Backend Developer with 1-2 years of qualified software-development experience.

This is primarily a backend development role. Applicants must have practical experience developing Java applications using Spring Boot and a solid understanding of core Java concepts.

The successful candidate will work with experienced engineers and contribute to the development, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production applications.

This position is suitable for a junior developer who already has practical Java knowledge and wants to strengthen their experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, relational databases, microservices, and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Implement REST APIs, application business logic, and database integrations
- Use Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate
- Work with relational databases and write SQL queries
- Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit and Mockito
- Debug defects and investigate application issues
- Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards
- Use Git and established development workflows
- Complete assigned tasks reliably and communicate blockers promptly
- Work with senior developers to understand requirements and implement technical solutions

Required Qualifications

- 1-2 years of professional software-development experience
- Hands-on professional experience developing applications using Java
- Practical experience using Spring Boot
- Strong understanding of core Java concepts, including:
- Object-oriented programming




- Collections
- Exception handling
- Interfaces and abstract classes
- Generics
- Experience developing REST APIs
- Experience using Spring Data JPA
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL
- Basic understanding of Hibernate and database relationships
- Experience writing unit tests using JUnit or Mockito
- Experience using Git
- Ability to read existing code, debug issues, and explain technical decisions clearly
- Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Exposure to AWS
- Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes
- Exposure to Redis, GraphQL, microservices, or CI/CD pipelines
- Basic frontend-development experience using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or a similar framework
- Experience working with production applications
