THERMO KING WESTERN

Canada

You see more than a truck—you see what it can become.

A bare chassis isn't just another vehicle to you. It's a service truck that will keep a utility crew working through the winter. It's a flat deck that will support a construction company. It's a crane truck that will help a technician safely complete their job. It's a custom build that someone will depend on every single day.

At TK Truck Body, we build trucks that work as hard as the people who drive them.

If you enjoy working with your hands, solving problems, learning recent skills, and taking pride in quality craftsmanship, we'd love to meet you.

About Us

TK Truck Body is a division of Thermo King Western, a proudly Canadian, family-owned company serving customers across Western Canada for more than 60 years.

We specialize in designing, assembling, installing, and servicing commercial truck equipment for customers across a wide range of industries.

Every day our team builds and installs:

- Service bodies
- Flat decks
- Dump bodies
- Van bodies
- Mechanics trucks
- Cranes
- Liftgates
- VMAC air compressor systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Electrical systems
- Lighting packages
- Tool storage systems
- Ladder racks
- Safety equipment
- Custom fleet upfits

No two builds are exactly alike, making this a rewarding career for someone who enjoys variety and seeing tangible results from their work.

The Chance

We're looking for a Truck Upfit Technician (Truck Body Installer) to join our growing team.

Whether your experience comes from truck body installation, commercial truck equipment, heavy-duty mechanics, automotive repair, fabrication, trailer manufacturing, agricultural equipment, RV manufacturing, or another mechanical trade, we want to hear from you.

This role involves transforming new truck chassis into fully equipped work vehicles by installing truck bodies, commercial truck equipment, electrical components, hydraulic systems, accessories, and customer-specific equipment.

Every completed truck leaves our shop carrying our reputation for quality.

What You'll Do

As part of the TK Truck Body team, you will:

- Assemble and install truck bodies, service bodies, flat decks, dump bodies, van bodies, and other vocational truck equipment.
- Install cranes, liftgates, VMAC systems, compressors, winches, ladder racks, shelving, toolboxes, lighting packages, safety equipment, and other customer accessories.
- Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools.

- Install electrical wiring, lighting systems, switches, controllers, batteries, and related electrical components.
- Install hydraulic pumps, valves, hoses, cylinders, reservoirs, and associated hydraulic equipment.
- Read and interpret work orders, installation instructions, and technical drawings.
- Measure, drill, cut, fit, align, and securely mount components to manufacturer specifications.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets our quality and safety standards.
- Test equipment to verify proper operation before customer delivery.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with fabrication, service, parts, engineering, and production teams to complete projects on schedule.
- Follow all company safety procedures and actively contribute to a positive safety culture.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
