S.E.A.S. Centre is a community-based charitable organization dedicated to promoting healthy living, personal development, and community engagement among individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Social Work Project Worker to lead the implementation of an innovative youth violence prevention initiative, "Youth Development for Safe Futures."

Project Overview

Family violence impacts thousands of youth in Canada each year. Youth exposed to family conflict, abuse, or poor emotional regulation are at increased risk of perpetuating cycles of violence. This project aims to address these challenges by empowering and equipping over 100 youth (ages 13–25) with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to manage emotions, build empathy, strengthen relationships, and become leaders in promoting non-violent communities.

The project includes:

- Monthly Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) workshops
- Bi-monthly Leadership Skills Training activities
- Family Engagement Events
- Youth-led community action projects such as awareness campaigns, art initiatives, and community forums

Topics covered include:

- Emotional regulation
- Empathy development
- Stress management
- Conflict resolution
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Advocacy and civic engagement
- Decision-making and leadership

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and implement all project activities and events.
- Recruit and engage youth participants, with priority outreach to youth from diverse backgrounds and those affected by family conflict or exposure to violence.
- Develop and facilitate workshops and group activities focused on social-emotional learning and leadership development.




- Provide case management, mentorship, and support to participating youth.
- Plan and coordinate family engagement events that strengthen communication and mutual understanding among family members.
- Support youth in designing and implementing community action projects.
- Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain participant records, collect evaluation data, and prepare program reports.
- Promote the project through community outreach and social media.
- Attend staff meetings and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (BSW) or equivalent degree in Social Work.
- Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) is an asset.
- Experience working with youth, families, and diverse communities.
- Knowledge of social-emotional learning, youth development, violence prevention, and family engagement approaches.
- Strong group facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation is an asset.
- Knowledge of Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual communication platforms.
