Full-Time Fundraising Associate

Position Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
Wage Range: $27.20 - $31.43

Overview

The Fundraising Associate will support the Director of Development in day-to-day activities of a multi-faceted Development and Communications Department. This position will have a large focus on donor care, donation & data management, and communications. The incumbent will be responsible for the administrative duties associated with donor care, donation & data management, and communications. The Fundraising Associate also provides copy editing for donor communication, social media content, and marketing materials, plus will take a lead role in our major fundraising events, while supporting and enhancing all ongoing donor strategies.

Specific Responsibilities

Donor Care & Customer Service – 20%

- Engage with community members regularly by phone, email, letter, digital streams, and in person (i.e., responding to questions, info requests & updates, donations over the phone, etc.)
- Respond to donor specific questions & requests
- Help build and maintain relationships with donors through regular touch points
- Produce and send new donor welcome packages, thank you letters, and cards/notes

Donation & Data Management – 50%

- Manage and maintain donor software through accurately inputting donor information,



gift amount, contact notes, and other related info
- Manage and maintain monthly partner donations
- Develop and produce a variety of reports in donor software (Virtuous) and MS Excel
- Complete one-time and/or annual tax receipts for donors
- Complete monthly donation reconciliation reports
- Manage all bank deposits
- Complete Gift in Kind (GIK) donation requests

Communications – 20%

- Create and schedule regular social media posts
- Design communications materials (i.e., graphics for social media posts)
- Help make updates to the website as needed
- Design and/or edit marketing materials such as brochures, stand-up banners, with the support of the marketing committee

Event Management – 10%

- Help plan major fundraising events with the support of the Director of Development
- Lead overall event organization, event day site setup and registration
- Assist donors with third party fundraising platforms (i.e., peer to peer sites)
- Provide third-party event support
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications

Education

- Completion of post-secondary education in fundraising, communications, marketing or related field

Experience

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a fundraising, data management, customer service, or similar role
- Experience in donor relations or customer service is an asset
- Data Management with a fundraising CRM experience is a benefit




- Event experience is an asset
- Communications experience is an asset
- Marketing and design experience is an asset

Certifications

- Foundations of Fundraising Course or similar course is helpful

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities required to be successful in this position

- Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals and reports
- Ability to analyze and present numerical data in tables, spreadsheets and forms
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, WordPress, Canva
- Sound knowledge and experience with a Customer Relations Managament system like Virtuous
- Ability to utilize social media platforms and website management tools
- Ability to organize daily/weekly projects and refocus when pulled off task
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn, completion of Virtuous Academy, CNOY 101 event training
- Foundations of Fundraising

Requirements

- Vulnerable Sector Check/Police Check
- Valid, unrestricted Class “G” Ontario Driver's licence
- Ministry of Transportation Drivers Abstract through Service Ontario
- Travel to area community organizations and businesses
- Statement of Faith Agreement bonification

Physical Demands

- Manual dexterity required
- Interacts with employees, management and the public at large
- Sitting, standing, bending and walking
- Repetitive work, detail oriented, work requiring deep focus
- Position is an "in-office" position regarding requirements to answer phone calls, respond to donor requests, and calling donors for purposes of updating financial information
- Position is located at the reception desk to offer our best customer service experience to the community
- Overtime may be required during specific peak times
