Overview
Established in 1981, Mentor College & TEAM School is the leading independent school in Mississauga. As part of our physical education programming for junior kindergarten to Grade 8, students visit our indoor pool 6 to 10 times between September and June each year.

We are seeking an aquatics instructor/supervisor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aquatics education (particularly with children) and can make the aquatics experience fun and challenging for students of all abilities. When not actively engaged in aquatics instruction and supervision, the candidate will fulfill other duties (eg: swim test record-keeping, supply teaching duties, etc.) as needed.

This is a replacement position. We are not using AI technology in this job search. The school day runs from 8:15am to 3:45pm but there may be times earlier or later than those if the candidate is involved with extra-curricular activities.

The high end of the salary range is for candidates with an Ontario College of Teachers'-recognized Bachelor of Education degree.

Responsibilities

- supervise classroom swim sessions for students from junior kindergarten to Grade 8
- perform swim tests and maintain accurate records for all swimmers
- schedule swim sessions and make-up classes as required
- assist developing aquatic skills




- assist in daily water testing and maintenance of records

Skills/Qualifications

- Aquatic Instructor Certification (Lifesaving Society – Instructor Certificate, YMCA – Instructor Certificate, Ontario Teachers’ Aquatic Standard)
- Life Guard Certification (Lifesaving Society – National Lifeguard - Pool)
- Standard First Aid Certification with CPR – (Lifesaving Society, St. John Ambulance, Canadian Red Cross)
- Negative TB skin test
- Canadian Police Information Check – Vulnerable Sector

Pay: $54,000.00-$57,000.00 per year
