Job Summary
Eastside Industrial is looking for a hands-on Advanced Composites Lead Hand to support the development and growth of our advanced composites manufacturing capabilities.
This position will lead vacuum infusion activities within our advanced composites production cell. The successful candidate will work directly on the production floor, helping develop reliable infusion processes, supporting new composite programs, training production employees, and ensuring parts are manufactured safely and consistently.
This is not primarily an office-based position. The Lead Hand will be expected to participate directly in material preparation, layup, vacuum bagging, infusion, demoulding, troubleshooting, and production support.
The successful candidate for this position must be able to work effectively in a group environment as well as independently with little supervision, have a positive attitude, and have an excellent work ethic.
This position is an hourly paid, day position that has a Monday – Friday schedule.
**TRANSPORTATION: All Applicants must have a way to get to and from our facility as there is no public transportation available.**
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day activities within the advanced composites production cell
- Develop, refine, and standardize vacuum infusion processes
- Participate directly in composite layup, bagging, infusion, and demoulding
- Review infusion setups, resin-feed locations, vacuum locations, and flow strategies
- Troubleshoot vacuum leaks, dry spots, resin-flow issues, bridging, and other process concerns
- Support prototype builds, process trials, and the introduction of new composite products
- Train employees on vacuum infusion methods, material handling, quality requirements, and safe work practices
- Assign work and provide direction to production team members
- Monitor production progress and communicate delays, risks, or resource concerns
- Help develop work instructions, process documentation, and standardized manufacturing methods
- Ensure tooling, materials, equipment, and consumables are prepared before production begins
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Production, and Project Management
- Promote a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with vacuum infusion, VARTM, RTM, or other advanced composite manufacturing processes
- Experience with composite layup, vacuum bagging, resin systems, reinforcement materials, peel ply, flow media, and related consumables
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot infusion and vacuum-related issues
- Comfortable working directly on the production floor
- Ability to lead, train, and support a production team
- Able to read drawings, work instructions,
and manufacturing documentation
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to work independently and take ownership of deadlines and production priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Composite manufacturing, aerospace manufacturing, or related technical education

A strong hands-on composite technician who is ready to move into a leadership position may also be considered.
