Our client, a reputable collections agency in the Mississauga area, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Paralegal to join their team. You will work closely with their head paralegal to support the legal team, and their collections team, to ensure smooth operations. If you have excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of legal processes, and a passion for delivering high-quality work, we want to hear from you!

This is also a great role for Junior Legal Assistants and Junior Paralegals who are starting their careers to have hands on work with real cases, real interactions with process servers, lawyers, and small claims courts!

Key Responsibilities:

- Draft and Send Correspondence:

Prepare and dispatch demand letters, settlement offers, and release letters.

- Client and Consumer Communication:

Answer phone calls from consumers and maintain qualified and empathetic communication.

- Document Preparation and Filing:

Assist in drafting and filing legal documents, including Plaintiff Claims, Affidavits of Service, Default Judgements, and Motions.

- File and Document Management:

Keep legal files, documents, and invoices organized and updated in a neat and orderly manner.

- External Communication:

Contact lawyers, process servers, and court offices for updates and current statuses of legal files.

- Employment Verification:

Conduct employment verification calls to various businesses and consumers.

- Property Searches:

Perform property searches across multiple Canadian provinces and territories as required.





- Administrative Support:

Provide administrative assistance to collection agents as needed.

- Database Maintenance:

Maintain a detailed database of legal accounts, ensuring accurate records of statuses, dispositions, and next steps.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a legal assistant role or related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of legal documentation and processes.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.

Compensation:

- $50,000 - $55,000

Hours:

Monday To Thursday: 9 am to 5 pm

Friday: 9 am to 4 pm

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
