Position Summary

The Ventilation Technician is responsible for supporting industrial facility turnaround and maintenance activities through the setup, maintenance, adjustment, and removal of temporary air movement and ventilation equipment. This role ensures protected and effective airflow solutions are in place to support confined space work, equipment outages, and other short-term operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and configure temporary ventilation and air distribution systems at industrial or commercial job sites.
- Operate and monitor ventilation equipment to ensure adequate airflow, air quality, and compliance with site safety requirements.
- Perform ongoing adjustments, inspections, and basic maintenance of ventilation systems during active turnaround or maintenance periods.
- Dismantle and remove ventilation equipment upon completion of project phases or site requirements.
- Conduct pre-use and routine inspections of fans, ducting, blowers, and related components.
- Support confined space entry and other high-risk work activities by ensuring proper atmospheric conditions are maintained.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, safety personnel, and other trades to align ventilation support with work plans.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs in the field.
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, inspections, and site conditions as required.
- Follow all applicable occupational health and safety procedures,



including confined space and hazardous atmosphere protocols.
- Ensure equipment is stored, transported, and handled safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

- Red Seal Journeyperson Ticket in any field is considered an asset
- Experience in industrial maintenance, construction support, or related field preferred.
- Familiarity with ventilation, air movement systems, or mechanical equipment is an asset.
- Knowledge of confined space safety practices and industrial site protocols.
- Valid safety tickets: H2S Awareness, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), Fall protection, Confined Space Entry
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license (if travel between sites is required).
- Will be required to undergo alcohol and drug testing

Working Conditions

- Work is primarily performed in industrial facility environments, including turnaround and shutdown projects.
- May involve shift work, overtime, and travel depending on project requirements.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, confined spaces, and active construction or industrial areas.

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
