At Valdek Construction, we specialize in home additions, basement renovations, and full home remodels for homeowners across Winnipeg. We're looking for a Carpenter who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys solving problems, and wants to grow alongside an experienced team.
You'll work directly alongside a Lead Carpenter who teaches, mentors, and helps you develop your skills. We believe great carpenters are built through experience, support, and taking pride in doing the job right.

What You'll Be Doing
Every project is different, but your work may include:
- Framing walls,
floors, and structural components for residential renovations and additions
- Installing insulation, drywall, trim, doors, cabinetry, shelving, and finishing hardware
- Reading blueprints and construction drawings to help plan each day's work
- Taking accurate measurements and preparing materials for installation
- Completing residential renovation work from demolition through finishing details
- Working efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
- Keeping jobsites clean, organized, and protected
- Caring for company tools and equipment
- Communicating professionally with homeowners when needed
- Reporting any vehicle, equipment, or tool issues promptly
What We Offer
- $28-$34/hour, based on experience and certification
- Full-time, year-round employment
- Interior renovation work throughout the winter
- Early Fridays: 9-hour days Monday through Thursday and a half-day Friday
- Weekends are yours. The occasional weekend may be required to meet a deadline, but it's rare and planned well in advance.
- 75% employer-paid health, dental, and health practitioner coverage after 90 days
- Paid sick days
- $500 annual tool allowance after 90 days

- Regular in-house crew meetings where your ideas help improve how we build
- Ongoing mentorship and apprenticeship support
- A clear career path toward becoming a Lead Carpenter
Who We're Looking For
- Have at least 2 years of carpentry experience
- Have residential renovation or remodeling experience (strongly preferred)
- Are a registered apprentice or interested in continuing your apprenticeship
- Can confidently read blueprints and construction drawings
- Take genuine pride in producing quality work
- Think ahead and solve problems before they become issues
- Show up on time, prepared, and ready to contribute every day
- Treat homeowners, coworkers, and jobsites with professionalism and respect
- Have a valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation
