We are currently seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator to support our production and yard operations at our Kingston facility.

Job Overview

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the plant by safely and efficiently moving raw materials, finished products, and molds within the yard. This role ensures timely organization, loading, and delivery preparation of concrete products while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-structured work environment.

Plant and Yard Operations

- Service the plant by supplying raw materials for production and removing finished products.
- Load customer deliveries safely and efficiently, ensuring accuracy with shipping paperwork.
- Organize and maintain yard layout for efficient product storage and retrieval.
- Receive vendor deliveries and store materials properly.
- Support plant operations by assisting with daily housekeeping and general yard duties.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other yard equipment safely and effectively.
- Complete daily equipment inspection and maintenance logs.
- Conduct basic equipment maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
- Maintain all required equipment training certifications and participate in refresher training as required.
- Report equipment damage or repair needs promptly to the Yard/Install Supervisor.

Safety and Quality Assurance

- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and equipment standards.




- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and company safety policies.
- Report all incidents, near-misses, or hazards immediately.
- Identify and report damaged or non-conforming products to Quality Control for assessment.
- Ensure products designated for scrap are properly labeled and documented.

Communication and Coordination

- Communicate daily with production and yard teams to ensure efficient flow of materials.
- Coordinate with the shipping team to ensure customer orders are complete and ready for delivery.
- Follow industry best practices and make proactive suggestions for operational improvements.

Other Duties

- Assist with general housekeeping and maintenance tasks.
- Perform other related duties or special assignments as required.

Qualifications & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to provide a Criminal Background Check (CPIC)
- Valid forklift certification (required)
- Valid Loader (required)
- 2-3 years of experience operating forklifts, cranes, loader or similar yard equipment in a manufacturing or construction setting. (required)
- Training in lifting and rigging techniques considered an asset.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
