Job Summary
A well-established law firm in Abbotsford is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide support primarily in general litigation and corporate law, including preparation of annual reports, share resolutions, and related documents. This is a full time, in-office position ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values teamwork, accuracy, and discretion.

Responsibilities
- Conduct conflict searches and open recent client files
- Prepare initial letters, correspondence, and standard forms using firm precedents
- Perform filing, scanning, and photocopying for lawyers and senior staff as required
- Create and maintain trial binders, pleadings indexes, and authorizations
- Prepare, update, and maintain corporate records including annual reports and share resolutions
- Request trust and general cheques as needed and maintain accounting folders
- Manage file closing and archiving procedures
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a professional and courteous manner
- Provide general administrative support to lawyers and assist with daily office operations
Qualifications and Skills
Education & Experience:
- Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate or equivalent education and experience
- 3–5 years of experience in a legal assistant role, ideally with exposure to both litigation and corporate law
- Proven administrative experience in a legal environment (preferred)
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel), Microsoft 365, and familiar with Brief Accounting, LEAP, and document management systems
Core Skills:
- Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence and legal documents
- Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Ability to conduct thorough research using various resources

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
