Urban Life Solutions (ULS) is looking to add skilled 310T and/or 310S Technician to our Fleet & Facility team in Ottawa. This is an excellent prospect for experienced mechanics who enjoy working on a diverse range of vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery supporting landscaping, construction, property maintenance, and winter snow and ice operations.

The successful candidates will play an important role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and operational throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing, inspections, and mechanical repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational problems and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Reference technical documentation, schematics, service manuals, and manufacturer specifications when completing repairs
- Support apprentices by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and helping develop their mechanical skills
- Weld, modify, and fabricate components when required
- Safely operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic equipment
- Complete inspections and identify mechanical concerns before they become larger issues
- Work closely with other members of the Fleet & Facility team to keep equipment moving and minimize downtime
- Document completed repairs, maintenance activities, inspections, and service work accurately
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shop environment

Qualifications & Experience





- Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician and/or 310S Automotive Service Technician
- Previous experience working as a mechanic; dealership, fleet, or similar experience is an asset
- Valid driver's licence with a satisfactory driving history
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, vehicle components, and troubleshooting procedures
- Fleet maintenance experience is considered an asset
- Experience with Caterpillar and other heavy equipment is an advantage
- Solid electrical diagnostic and repair abilities
- Forklift operating experience is preferred
- Comfortable assembling and disassembling mechanical components correctly and efficiently
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team

This position may involve working on a wide variety of equipment rather than a single type of vehicle or machine, making it well suited to technicians who enjoy variety and hands-on problem solving.

Working Conditions & Field Requirements

ULS operates throughout the year and our field teams support a variety of client sites and operational locations. Employees must be prepared and willing to work at different ULS-contracted locations as required by scheduling, client needs, weather, and business demands.

The role may also include physically demanding manual work associated with both our summer and winter operations.



Employees must be capable of performing tasks such as lifting, shoveling, landscaping, construction-related duties, equipment handling, and other outdoor work in varying weather and environmental conditions.
