Security Guard – Temporary Full time Contract (Overnights)

Position Overview

Kluskap Security Services is hiring dependable and professional Security Guards for a temporary full-time contract at a remote work site near New Ross, Nova Scotia.

The contract is expected to begin August 31, 2026, and continue until approximately mid-December 2026.

Previous security experience and an existing Nova Scotia Security Guard Licence are not required. Kluskap Security Services will assist successful candidates with the application process to obtain the required Nova Scotia Security Guard Licence prior to working on site.

This position is focused on access control, site security, trespass prevention, patrols, and the protection of valuable materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Control and monitor access to the site
- Verify individuals entering and exiting the property
- Challenge and prevent unauthorized access
- Prevent trespassing and unauthorized activity
- Protect valuable materials, equipment, and other assets
- Conduct regular vehicle and foot patrols
- Operate the company-provided patrol truck for authorized site patrols
- Monitor for suspicious activity, security concerns, hazards, or unusual conditions
- Maintain accurate security logs and complete incident reports when required




- Report security incidents and significant concerns through the appropriate chain of command
- Maintain a visible, alert, and professional security presence
- Follow all Kluskap Security Services and client site procedures

Schedule & Work Environment

Weekdays: Security coverage is primarily during evening and overnight hours.

Weekends: The site requires 24/7 security coverage, so weekend assignments may include daytime or overnight shifts depending on the schedule.

This is a remote work location near New Ross, Nova Scotia. Successful applicants must be comfortable working independently, including overnight and during periods with limited activity.

A company truck is provided on site for security patrols. Employees are responsible for reliable transportation to and from the work location.

Requirements

- Must be eligible to obtain a Nova Scotia Security Guard Licence
- Kluskap Security Services will assist successful applicants with the security licence application process
- Valid driver's licence required to operate the company patrol vehicle
- Reliable transportation to and from the New Ross area
- Strong attendance and dependability
- Available to work overnight and weekend shifts
- Comfortable working independently at a remote location




- Strong situational awareness and attention to detail
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate security logs
- Ability to remain alert and vigilant throughout the assigned shift
- Previous security experience is an asset but not required
