Maintenance Manager / Handyman

Location: Lethbridge, Alberta

Salary: Competitive ($32-$34/hour), with excellent benefits

Schedule: Monday to Friday (days); limited call

As the Maintenance Manager/ Handyman, you'll be a crucial part of the team, responsible for overseeing the seamless operations of our buildings and grounds.

Reporting to the Site Leader, as the Maintenance Manager/ Handyman you'll be the go-to expert, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to keep this seniors’ living care home in top condition for our residents, guests, and staff.

Maintenance Manager/ Handyman Key Responsibilities:

- Building Maintenance Manager oversees all building systems, including electrical, mechanical, and grounds, ensuring safety and functionality
- Building Maintenance Manager manages work orders, preventative maintenance, and asset history using our Maintenance Care software
- Building Maintenance Manager prioritizes and execute repairs, obtaining quotes from local trades, suppliers, and contractors
- Building Maintenance Manager collaborates effectively with all vendors and contractors to deliver high-quality service
- Building Maintenance Manager provides winter maintenance, keeping sidewalks, patios, and exits clear of ice and snow
- Building Maintenance Manager supports the fire safety program and quality assurance initiatives

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance skills, along with leadership qualities to supervise maintenance activities. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of troubleshooting complex systems and implementing preventative maintenance strategies to support our manufacturing operations.

Duties

- Building Maintenance Manager Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Building Maintenance Manager Troubleshoot and repair issues related to electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and mechanical components using schematics and technical manuals.
- Building Maintenance Manager Operate and maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders, inventory, and maintenance history.
- Building Maintenance Manager Conduct welding repairs and fabricate parts as needed for facility upkeep.
- Building Maintenance Manager Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to diagnose problems accurately.
- Building Maintenance Manager Supervise maintenance staff or contractors during repair or installation projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed.




- Building Maintenance Manager Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to all safety standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operations.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing facility-related concerns promptly and professionally.

Experience

- Building Maintenance Manager has supervising experience in a facilities maintenance or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Building Maintenance Manager has proven knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical systems within industrial settings.
- Building Maintenance Manager has experience with CMMS software for managing maintenance workflows.
- Building Maintenance Manager is skilled in welding techniques and mechanical repairs with a solid understanding of schematics.
- Building Maintenance Manager has electrical experience including troubleshooting electrical circuits and components.
- Building Maintenance Manager has strong mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing facilities maintenance.
- Building Maintenance Manager has ability to read technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and facility blueprints effectively.
- Building Maintenance Manager has excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination.
- Building Maintenance Manager leadership experience in supervising or guiding maintenance teams is advantageous.
