ohnston & Sons Trucking Ltd - Deck division.

We are a small, family owned trucking company based out of Spruce Grove, AB and we are looking to hire two qualified class 1 drivers for our Deck division. We are contracted to a company out of eastern Alberta and we haul pipe, steel, tanks and oversize. We run late model trucks, and we keep up on the maintenance. All trucks have inverters, microwaves, fridges, bunk, and engine heaters. We offer benefits after 3 months and a guaranteed base rate.

Duties:

-hauling pipe from manufacturer to customer's site

-hauling steel from manufacturer to plant sites

-overdimensional

-tie down loads in accordance with federal load securement laws.

-communicate with dispatch

-time management within Federal HOS

-keeping up to date with paperwork

Job Requirements:

-must have a minimun 2 years experience pulling deck trailers

-must have H2s, first aid, and CSO

-must be able pass pre employment D&A; test

-must be physically fit

-must have a clean 5 year abstract

-must be fluent in reading/writing/speaking english

-must be able to shift an 18 speed transmission

-must be able to keep the trucks clean inside and out





-must be able to perform a proper pre/post trip and communicate deficiencies to dispatch/mechanic

-must have 1 year of mountain experience

-must be willing to spend extended periods of time away from home (5-7 days)

-must be experienced with Elogs

-must be willing to work long hours within Federal HOS

-must be able to find locations using google maps/standard maps

Overdimensional experience is an asset, but not required.
