CGI is seeking a motivated Business Systems Analyst – AI & Digital Transformation to join our growing consulting practice. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional with a passion for business analysis, emerging technologies, and digital innovation. Working alongside business consultants, solution architects, software developers, AI specialists, and client stakeholders, you will help bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. You will analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, identify opportunities for AI-enabled transformation, and support the delivery of modern digital solutions that improve business outcomes. This role is ideal for someone with 1 to 3 years of professional experience, a strong technical foundation, and an interest in combining business analysis with Artificial Intelligence, automation, and digital transformation. This is a full-time permanent prospect based in Halifax, NS, with a hybrid work model requiring three days per week onsite.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to analyze business processes and identify opportunities for digital transformation and AI-enabled solutions.
- Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and system requirements.
- Translate business requirements into user stories, process flows, functional specifications, and system requirements.
- Support the design and implementation of AI-enabled business solutions, including Generative AI, intelligent automation, and workflow technologies.
- Work closely with software developers, AI engineers, cloud architects, and data teams to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions.
- Develop current-state and future-state process models using tools such as Visio, Miro, or Lucidchart.
- Document system interfaces, data flows, APIs, and integration requirements.
- Participate in discovery workshops, requirements gathering sessions, design thinking activities, and stakeholder meetings.
- Support proof-of-concept initiatives, AI solution testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production readiness activities.
- Prepare business documentation, presentations, process documentation, and client deliverables while contributing to Agile project delivery.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a Management, Business, Information Systems, or related minor, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Approximately 1 to 3 years of professional experience in business analysis, systems analysis, software development, consulting, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of software development concepts and modern enterprise applications.
- Foundational knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and emerging digital technologies.
- Understanding of business analysis practices, including requirements gathering, process mapping, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, system integrations, and modern enterprise application architectures.
- Basic knowledge of Python, SQL, JSON, and data analysis concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience working with collaboration and project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365, Miro, or Visio.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively within Agile, multidisciplinary project teams.
Assets
The following qualifications would be considered assets:
- Experience with AI solution design, prompt engineering, or AI proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Experience supporting business process transformation or digital modernization projects.
- Exposure to process automation or intelligent automation technologies.
- Experience with API integration or system implementation projects.
- Experience participating in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities.
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), solution validation, or quality assurance activities.
- Experience working within public sector, financial services, healthcare, or other enterprise environments.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000 - $90,000 CAD. This role is a future vacancy.
